Description

Sullivan's Travels (Paramount, 1941). Australian 24 Sheet (104" X 232"). This film is generally considered one of celebrated writer/director Preston Sturges' greatest dramatic comedies - and a satirical statement of his own director's creed. The film tells of the "mission" of "Sully" (Joel McCrea), a big-shot Hollywood director of lightweight comedies to experience suffering in the world before producing his next socially-conscious film of hard times - an epic titled "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" about the common man. (Filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen paid homage to Sturges and his admirable film by naming their own 2000 film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"). If Veronica Lake is your biggest collecting need, if she has a huge presence in your life, if you were wondering how you could make more of a Lake statement in your space, well look no more! This very rare and most likely only 24 sheet on this classic is a real beauty at nine foot by nineteen foot! This is the Australian poster and is done in beautiful stone lithograph. The poster is in in great condition except for two panels which have some significant fold wear. Almost all of the paper is there but some chipping has occurred. This may be the largest Veronica Lake image you will ever fine! Fine-.
