DescriptionStrange Cargo (MGM, 1940). Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 40.25") Style C, Armando Seguso Artwork. From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Clark Gable and Joan Crawford had made a number of films for MGM before appearing in this, their last film together. In it, they play a pair of fugitives trying to escape a penal colony. One of their fellow escapees may even be a spiritual figure. The poster offered here is one of the best to ever feature the two stars and is a lasting tribute to one of the silver screen's finest teams. Touchup has been applied to fold wear and separations, ink writing bleedthrough, small tears, and pinholes. Still visible are a few chips and light staining, some of which has been addressed. The title has has touchup applied as well.
Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
