    Description

Stella Dallas (Samuel Goldwyn, 1925). One Sheet (28.25" X 41").
Prior to the more well-known version starring Barbara Stanwyck, this tear jerker was adapted for the silver screen in 1925 by Francis Marion, with Samuel Goldwyn as producer and Henry King directing. A small town girl (Belle Bennett) quickly marries a well-to-do fellow in the devastating wake of her father's death. Predictably, she and her husband (Ronald Colman) have nothing in common and go their separate ways after the birth of their daughter (Lois Moran). Alice Joyce and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. also appear in this silent melodrama that boasts an undeniably beautiful stone litho one sheet. Touchup has been applied to the folds, pinholes in the corners, and a tear above the top horizontal fold in the left border. Very Fine on Linen.
