    Description

Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Ferenginar by Syd Dutton (Paramount, 1995). Very Fine-. Original Screen-Used Matte Painting on Board (96" X 48") Episode 3x23 -- "Family Business."
Making its first appearance at Heritage is this atmospheric matte painting of the Ferengi home world of Ferenginar as seen in the Star Trek Deep Space 9 episode, "Family Business," as well as episode 5x20 "Ferengi Love Songs." An atmospheric piece, Dutton does an excellent job of communicating the contradictory nature of the planet with its obvious opulence and technical advancement juxtaposed so closely against a swampy, desolate back country. Beautiful and obviously created with a skilled hand, this painting has a few indications of handling, such as thin surface scuffs and scratches, as well as some smudges. There is an adhesive label at the top left edge, and the painting has a sticker at the bottom most likely from production use. Some of what appear to be scuffs are painted lines in the clouds. Due to the size/weight of this lot, shipping costs may be higher than usual.
