Spellbound (United Artists, 1945). Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Alfred Hitchcock's Spellbound is one of the director's most striking thrillers. Equally striking is this one sheet for the film depicting Ingrid Bergman as Dr. Constance Petersen. Bergman is in the arms of Gregory Peck, and behind her, in Peck's hand, is the menacing straight razor that features prominently in the film, here dangling perilously above Bergman's credit. Backed on linen, touchup has addressed much of the fold wear and a tear through the right side of Bergman's image. Minute chips in the image and moderate chips in the borders have also been addressed with paper splices. Still visible are pinholes, scuffs, a few smudges, and unobtrusive stains. There was also ink writing on the verso of the poster prior to backing, and some of the writing can be very faintly seen in the image of Ingrid Bergman.

    Estimate: $3,000 - $6,000.
