Description

Son of Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein Combo (Realart, R-1949). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Horror. Starring Boris Karloff, Colin Clive, Valerie Hobson, Elsa Lanchester, Dwight Frye, Basil Rathbone, Bela Lugosi, Lionel Atwill, Josephine Hutchinson, Donnie Dunagan. Directed by James Whale, Rowland V. Lee. One of the greatest of all horror scenes. That's Una O'Connor ('Minnie') looking up at the Monster, at the moment of the capture and sharply exclaiming to the burgomaster: "Mind me he don't get loose again. He might do some damage and hurt somebody." This image, laden with Christian religious symbolism, has the captured Monster roped to a long wooden pole, raised and placed in a suffering, crucifixion pose, as the villagers revile him and stone him with rocks. This terrific scene card, scarce in this grade, shows only very minor edge bumps, two tiny border tears, mild border soiling, and paper tape on the back edges. Very Fine+.
