Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (RKO, 1937). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style B, Gustaf Tenggren Artwork.
A truly momentous junction in film history, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs may never have left the drawing board if not for the passion, determination, and sheer stubbornness of Walt Disney. Critics in the press dubbed his vision as "Disney's Folly," his brother and business Roy partner derided the venture, and his own wife attempted to dissuade him numerous times from pursuing the project. Walt Disney defied them all. His persistence created one of the most massive genres in the business, a billion dollar industry that has shaped the world view of children and adults alike for nearly eighty years. An absolute must-have for Disney fans, the style B boasts the most beautiful artwork of the three one sheets, with the whole cast rendered in gorgeous detail and soft pastels by Gustaf Tenggren. Professional restoration has addressed pinholes in the background and image area, a misfold in the lower horizontal fold, a chip in the lower right border, and touchup in the folds. There are small perpendicular tears in the folds, some of which go into Snow White's image, as well as a tear in her chest. The white area at the bottom of the poster below the blue title oval and the white area with the tagline above the image have both been entirely replaced. The poster has been fully and expertly restored with the result being a stunning poster that displays very well and which will be a highlight for one proud owner. Good/Very Good on Linen.
