Description

    Sign of the Wolf (Metropolitan, 1931). One Sheets (5) (27" X 41").
Rex Lease, Virginia Brown Faire, and Harry Todd star alongside King, the "Emperor of All Dogs" in this ten-episode adventure serial from Metropolitan Pictures. Todd, an explorer, steals a device that turns sand into precious jewels while in the Himalayas. As he escapes through the jungle, he adopts a little dog (King) sacred to the Native population. Fast forward to the American Southwest, where Todd, his daughter (Faire), and King must contend with scoundrels intent on stealing the magic device. These five gorgeous stone litho one sheets capture the action in rich, saturated colors. The posters are in highly presentable condition -- First Episode: Drums of Doom shows a bottom right and top left corner bend, crossfold separations, small edge tears at the folds, and a stain in the left border. Second Episode: The Dog of Destiny shows edge tears at the folds, crossfold separations, and pinholes in the corners/background/borders. Third Episode: The Wolf's Fangs shows pinholes in the corners, and stains in the left and right border. Fourth Episode: The Fatal Shot shows pinholes in the corners with paper loss, tear in the top vertical fold at the border, pinpoint crossfolds separations, and paper loss in the left border with white tape. Sixth Episode: The Wolf Dogs has a chip in the top left corner, pinholes in the corners and along the horizontal centerfold, bottom left edge tear/creasing, corner bends/tears at the bottom, a vertical tear near the bottom horizontal fold, and a gouge in the horse's nose. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
