    Description

    Shorty's Troubled Sleep (Mutual, 1915). One Sheet (28" X 42").
From 1914 to 1917, cowboy character actor Shorty Hamilton starred in a series of two-reel comedies called The Adventures of Shorty, named after the first picture in the series. A light, refreshing bit of comedy, Shorty continually finds himself in several improbable predicaments all over the world, often with his trained horse, Beauty, at his side. This particular installment of the wandering cowboy's misadventures was written by C. Gardiner Sullivan, known later for his work on the adaptation of All Quiet on the Western Front and the William S. Hart film Hell's Hinges. This is Heritage's first time to sell any paper from this comedic short, which features a great stone litho image of the title character. Skilled restoration has addressed pinholes, extra vertical creases, and paper loss in the borders and interior. There was a noticeable section of paper loss in the left background. The poster now displays beautifully. Very Good+ on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,200 - $2,400.
