American men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine, Playboy, was founded in 1953 by Hugh Hefner and his associates, which as endured 63 years of cultural changes. The magazine is known for his long history of publishing short stories, articles, interviews and until 2016, their centerfolds of nude and semi-nude models. Featuring in this lot are 17 issues of Playboys, many with James Bond related articles and short stories (Ian Fleming wrote several stories of his famous spy as well as other writers). Unrestored magazines with bright color and clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as slight edge and spine wear, very minor spine separations, creases, and small tears. There are identical magazines in this lot. Three magazines (January, April, and May of 1997) have been personalized and signed by The James Bond Bedside Companion author Raymond Benson who was commissioned to produce a new James Bond story in the magazine. Heritage believes that the autographs in this lot are Authentic, but know before bidding that no Certificate of Authenticity is provided. Very Fine+.
