    Description

The Green Hornet (Universal, 1940). One Sheet (27" X 41") Chapter 6 -- "Highways of Peril."
Created by Fran Striker, who also brought the Lone Ranger to life, the Green Hornet was first heard over Detroit's WXYZ radio station on January 31, 1936, and became an instant sensation. By day Britt Reid, crusading publisher of the Daily Sentinel and great-nephew of the Lone Ranger himself; by night the Green Hornet (Gordon Jones) and his aide Kato(Keye Luke) fight gangsters and racketeers, all the while pursued by the police who mistakenly think the Hornet to be as great a menace as the criminals he battles. This dramatic poster offered here, featuring a wonderful image of the Hornet, is typical of the Universal serial one sheets, which featured different art for each and every chapter. The poster shows pinholes in the borders, edge wear with tears, smudging and a tack hole stain in the borders, fold wear and cross fold separation with tape on the verso, a small nick in the bottom border, a top left corner bend, and light fading of color. Fine.
