Captain America (Republic, 1944). Very Fine+ on Linen. Three Sheet (41" X 80").
This 15-chapter serial produced by Republic Pictures marks the first live-action appearance of the iconic comic book character created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Unlike the comic book version, where Captain America is Steve Rogers, a super-soldier fighting Nazis, this 1944 serial features Grant Gardner, a district attorney who dons the Captain America costume to battle a villain called The Scarab, who is sabotaging American scientific and industrial efforts during World War II using a variety of deadly inventions. Backed to linen, the poster has received minimal restoration to address some splits to the folds and a few small chips to the fold junctions. There is also a small spot of touch-up to the hero's chest area. Thanks to expert attention, the poster presents beautifully. Note that the linen has been trimmed to the poster borders.
