This Island Earth (Universal International, 1955). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). Reynold Brown Artwork.
Scientists Cal Meacham and Ruth Adams are recruited by mysterious aliens to help defend their planet, only to discover that the aliens' world is under threat from a rival race called the Metaluna. Known for its pioneering special effects and vivid Technicolor visuals, the film became a benchmark for mid-century sci-fi cinema. Backed to linen, there has been touch-up to wear, splits and small chips to the folds or fold junctions; as well as chips and pinholes to the corners and within some border areas. There was touch-up to the H of 'the' in the tagline and the man's face at lower left. Additionally, there has been airbrushing to the borders and the white area of the credits block. Thanks to these efforts, the poster presents very nicely.
