    Description

Star Trek: The Next Generation/Deep Space Nine/Voyager/Enterprise (Paramount, Late 1980s - Early 2000s). Very Fine. Signed Original Graphite Concept Artwork (14" X 11" - 22" X 17"). From the collection of Dan Curry, long-running visual effects specialist for the Star Trek franchise.
Among the many fantastical sci-fi elements found in the Star Trek franchise, the exotic alien weapons and starships help cement the feeling of worlds and races completely different from our own. Visual effect supervisor Dan Curry was responsible for many of these designs, and as a martial artist himself, helped develop the distinctive fighting style used by the Klingon race. Done primarily in graphite and colored pencils, these concept sketches feature a 1996 concept sketch of Worf's Klingon knife from Star Trek: DS9, 1994 designs for a Jem'Hadar fighting cleavers also from DS9, drawings of alien daggers from Star Trek: The Next Generation (one of which is dated 1990), a 2004 design for an Andorian Ushann-Tor from Star Trek: Enterprise, a preliminary sketch for an alien scout ship created in 1997 that resembles Kazon design aesthetics, another concept for an alien ship from 1993, 1991 a drawing of an alien outrigger from 1991, and a couple of undated designs of a Hierarchy survey ship from Star Trek: Voyager seen in episode 7x24 "Renaissance Man," one of which has an additional paper sketch overlay attached with cellophane tape. The drawings are in generally good shape with slight edge wear, occasional creasing, and minor tears. The design for the "alien dagger" has some toning.
