    Description

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Borg Drone by Dan Curry (Paramount, c. 1989). Very Fine/Near Mint. Rough Concept Model Display (8" X 12.5"). From the collection of Dan Curry, long-running visual effects specialist for the Star Trek franchise.
A one-of-a-kind item from one of television's most beloved sci-fi series, this early concept of a Borg "drone" ship comes directly from the hands of special effects master Dan Curry. As the visual effects supervisor for Star Trek: The Next Generation, Curry created numerous designs for the show's ships, weapons, and settings. This rough concept piece features a more hodge-podge look for the cybernetic Borg vessels, based far more on utility than aesthetics. Though the Borg's finalized style centered on geometric shapes like their cube and sphere-like ships, the spirit of this patchwork design carried over into the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Regeneration," where the science ship Arctic One became an assimilate Borg vessel. Both the display and concept piece are in excellent condition, showing very few signs of wear aside from minor surface scuffs. Due to the size/weight of this lot, shipping costs may be higher than usual.
