Star Trek: Star Fleet Technical Manual - Constitution Class Starship by Franz Joseph (Ballantine Books, 1974). Rolled, Very Fine. Stamped Original Design Blueprint (99.75" X 36") & Paperback Book (Multiple Pages, 8.5" X 11").
Printed on a semi-opaque sheet of Cronar Film, Ballantine Books used this highly detailed schematic print in the production of Franz Joseph's informational book, Star Trek: Star Fleet Technical Manual. Contained within the books pages is an exhaustive wealth of knowledge on the United Federation of Planets, such as the Articles of Federation, the peace treaty between the Romulan Star Empire and the Federation, diagrams and sewing patterns on the design and color of Star Fleet Uniforms, schematics on devices like tricorders and hand phasers, star charts showing orbits and the layout of galaxies, and blueprints of starship designs, just to name a few features in the book. The impressive and in-depth design of a Constitution Class starship, the same class as the USS Enterprise seen in the Star Trek original television series, was a major highlight for fans of the franchise wanting to know as much as they could about the day-to-day operations of Star Fleet. The schematic offered in this lot is the same one Joseph sent to Ballantine Books and was used in multiple printings of his book. It has Joseph's personal stamp on the right side and is in very presentable shape, showing light edge wear, slight creases, and a few small stains and smudges. There are a couple of hand prints visible on the right side, but these may be from when the blueprint was used in the book's multiple printings. Also offered is a copy of Star Trek: Star Fleet Technical Manual, which has light edge wear, soft smudges, mild foxing on the exterior, and a sticker on the verso. The schematics and the book will be shipped separately.
