The third installment in the Star Wars trilogy was originally titled Revenge of the Jedi, until creator George Lucas recognized that revenge was a concept inconsistent with the noble ideals of the Jedi. The title was subsequently changed to Return of the Jedi, but not before a limited number of advance posters were released bearing the original title. As one of the few official artifacts to feature this name, these posters are highly sought after by Star Wars collectors worldwide. Two versions were produced, one with a release date and one without. This dated example remains in appealing condition, showing only minor edge wear, gentle creasing, light smudges, a small tear along the left border, and a faint, unobtrusive stain in the lower black background. A couple of small strips of cellophane tape are present on the verso.
