    Description

Queen of Outer Space (Allied Artists, 1958). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
One of the best "kitsch" films ever made that's still a winner on movie night with a room full of friends and some liquid refreshments. The back story on this "epic" would fill a small novel. We start with Ben Hecht, one of the best screenwriters ever to tap a Smith-Corona, writing a satiric take off on women running a man-less planet, and then hire Ellwood Ullman to spoof it even further (and he knows from spoofing...he was responsible for most of the Three Stooges screenplays). Then turn Three Stooges and Bowery Boys director, Edward Bernds, loose on the project with a couple of bottles of scotch, and the next thing you know you've got Zsa Zsa Gabor in a Dior knockoff and $300 shoes, and a Queen in toreador pants with a facial make-up job that looks suspiciously like Moe just hit her with a pie! And if that isn't enough fun for you...examine this fine complete lobby card set and spot the crewman's uniforms and Altaira's wardrobe borrowed from a studio box labeled Forbidden Planet, and models, set and special effects from another box labeled World Without End! There's lots more...but we're out of space. Just enjoy the set. There are border pinholes in five cards, a paper chip in the top border of one card, one card has a small stain in the bottom border, and one has a small stain in the left border. Color is great! Fine/Very Fine.
