Planet of the Apes (20th Century Fox, 1968). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Double-Sided Poster (30" X 40").This 30" X 40" poster for Franklin J. Schaffner's Planet of the Apes (starring Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowall) is a true rarity. Though its eye-catching image is essentially the same as that used on the film's one sheets and other 30" X 40" posters, this particular poster is double-sided, an extremely uncommon thing in 1968. Made of translucent resin, the poster was presumably produced for a roadshow engagement, most likely for a large theater chain that had lighted poster marquees.
