    Description

Mad Max by Bill Garland (American International, 1980). Very Fine-. Original Comp Artwork (12.5" X 19", Matted: 19.5" X 26").
Mel Gibson stars as Max Rockatansky, a rogue cop out for the blood of those who murdered his wife and child. Gibson catapulted to international fame thanks to this high-octane action classic, helmed by George Miller. A must for fans of the franchise, this piece is comprised of a print of a preliminary version of the art with printed text. Although very similar to the final artwork used on domestic paper for the film, artist Bill Garland would go on to add more detail and make a few minor changes. The artwork shows such indications of handling as pinholes, thin surface scratches, a few paper lifts, and minor tears in the white border. There are creases, surface rippling, and surface indentations around the title, though this may be due to the process in which the title was added to the piece. The mat displays some surface scuffs and wear.
