2001: A Space Odyssey (MGM, 1968). One Sheet (27" X 41.25") Style C.
Artist Robert T. McCall had been commissioned by NASA to document the space program's achievements, and so became a logical choice by MGM to design the campaign for 2001: A Space Odyssey. McCall did several posters for the film, but this is by far the rarest. This style C was only used in theaters presenting the film in Cinerama, and since not many theatres were set up for it, these posters were distributed in very small quantities. The colors have some fading, and touchup has been applied to the folds and a chip in the bottom left corner. A highly desirable poster from one of the most monumental science-fiction films ever made. Fine on Linen.
