2001: A Space Odyssey (MGM, 1968). Banner (24" X 82"). Director Stanley Kubrick worked with science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke to adapt Clarke's short story "The Sentinel" into a screenplay. Kubrick's attention to scientific detail attained legendary status with this film and because of his quest for perfection, new techniques in special effects had to be developed. The result was certainly the most "scientific" science fiction picture ever made and it became one of the most critically acclaimed movies of all time. A very rare banner for this film is offered here. It is showing some smudging on the borders, pinholes in the title and in the black background, and some light color flaking, primarily in the image area on the left. Fine/Very Fine.
