    Description

San Francisco (MGM, 1936). Horizontal French Double Grande (63" X 91.5") Roger Soubie Artwork.
    W. S. Van Dyke directs Clark Gable, Jeanette McDonald, and Spencer Tracy in one of MGM's greatest hits. McDonald is a talented young singer torn between opera house owner Jack Holt and Clark Gable, the owner of a rowdy night club known as the Paradise Cafe. The film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor for Tracy, and Best Director, and showcases fantastic special effects with reproducing San Francisco's cataclysmic earthquake. A movie poster illustrated by artist Roger Soubie never disappoints, and this French double grande is no exception. It's making its Heritage debut, and will stun bidders with a luminous, larger than life image of Gable and McDonald in rich stone litho colors. It has had only the lightest touchup at the folds with no other signs of wear. Very Fine+ on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
