DescriptionThe Sheik (Paramount, 1921). Very Fine. Lobby Card (11" X 14").
In one of Rudolph Valentino's most famous roles, Sheik Ahmed Ben Hassan (Valentino) rescues Lady Diana Mayo (Agnes Ayers) from the desert, only to have her reject his advances. Set free, Mayo is kidnapped by the villainous Omair (Walter Long), and is condemned to a fate worse than death. In the end, much to the delight of Valentino's thousands of swooning fans, the dashing Sheik rescues the helpless heroine who now pledges her undying love. This wonderful hand-tinted scene card captures an endearing moment between the two in lovely vibrant color. Signs of light usage include slight edge wear, small corner bends, and very faint stains in the bottom border.
Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
