    Description

The Barretts of Wimpole Street (MGM, 1934). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style D.
Poet Elizabeth Barrett (Norma Shearer) is almost coerced into remaining an invalid in bed by her overbearing father (Charles Laughton). When she finds love, in the form of fellow poet Robert Browning (Fredric March), she also discovers the dark secrets in her father's past. Director Sidney Franklin remade the film shot-for-shot in 1957 with Jennifer Jones, John Gielgud and Bill Travers. This stone litho one sheet has sensational color and drawings of the stars, and displays exceptionally well. The linen has been trimmed to the borders, and restoration has addressed pinholes in the corners, a small tear in the left border, and wear in the top horizontal fold. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
