    Description

Sunshine of Paradise Alley (Chadwick Pictures, 1926). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A. Romance.
This is quite a unique silent film poster with an interesting interpretive painting of beauty Barbara Bedford (who appeared in many William S. Hart films, including his last, Tumbleweeds. She also appeared with Lon Chaney in Mockery). It's the artwork that is so special. It's by noted painter Josef Bakos, who did only a few film posters. He is famous for his Southwest paintings where he was a significant contributor to the modernism movement in the 1920s. He founded the "Los Cinco Pintores," the first artist group in New Mexico devoted to modernism. His vintage paintings and prints are now highly collectible. Starring Barbara Bedford, Kenneth MacDonald, Max Davidson, Nigel Barrie, Gayne Whitman. Directed by Jack Nelson. An unrestored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have edge wear with small tears, slight paper loss, minor stains, and/or some fold separation. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Folded, Fine+.
