    Description

The Beatles Special Look Magazine Prints by Richard Avedon (NEMS Enterprises, Ltd., 1967). Posters (4) (22.5" X 31") and (1) (14.5" X 40").
In 1967, at the apex of the "Flower Power" era, Look Magazine commissioned famed photographer Richard Avedon to do a set of individual portraits of the members of the most popular rock and roll group of the day - the Beatles. After appearing in the magazine, Look offered the photos as a set of four prints. These posters, in all their "far- out" colors, can truly be called psychedelic. John Lennon's kaleidoscope eyes, George Harrison as a mystical guru, Paul McCartney with his flowers, and Ringo Starr with the dove of peace, perfectly capture that fleeting moment in history. Also included is a landscape photographic portrait print of the Fab Four by Avedon for the British news publication the Daily Express. The John Lennon poster has had touchup to chips and tears in the left border, small paper loss in the top corners, and a small bit of paper loss in the bottom border. The George Harrison poster had chips and tears in the borders. The Paul McCartney poster has chips and tears in the top and left border. The Ringo Starr poster has small paper loss in the bottom corners. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
