    Description

The Atlanta Rhythm Section with Wet Willie & Other Lot (Armadillo World Headquarters, 1976). Armadillo Appreciation Week Concert Posters (2) (11" X 17"). Rock and Roll.
Popular Austin music venue, The Armadillo World Headquarters, was compared to the historic Fillmore Auditorium venue as the premier venue for rock and psychedelia in the 1970s. In 1976, the city of Austin declared the first week of August as "Armadillo Appreciation Week" with several bands performing throughout the week. This lot contains two concert posters for the event featuring the Southern rock band Atlanta Rhythm Section (a popular Southern band that didn't achieve the same commercial success as Lynyrd Skynyrd or The Allman Brothers) and French violinist and jazz composer Jean-Luc Ponty with bluegrass fiddle player Vassar Clements (1976). Unrestored posters with clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, minor creases, very small tears, and light smudges. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Artwork for The Atlanta Rhythm Section by Danny Garrett, with Jean-Luc Ponty with Vassar Clements by Micael Priest. Rolled, Very Fine+.
