    Description

Sanctuary and Fate's Warning at Pine St. Theatre & Other Lot (1989). Rolled, Very Fine. Concert Posters (3) (11" X 17"). Rock and Roll.
Offered in this lot are three concert posters from the Pacific Northwest music scene. First is a poster for "May Metal Mayhem" featuring Sanctuary, Fate's Warning, and Dead On at Portland's Pine Street Theater. Sanctuary was from Seattle and was an influential thrash band at the time. They broke up in 1992. Fate's Warning would been known for their progressive metal throughout the 80s and would be a major influence on up-and-comers like Dream Theater. Next is a 1989 poster for two different shows (a "Spring Metal Onslaught") at the Pine Street Theatre in Portland. The top portion is devoted to MOD ("Method of Destruction") with L??z Rockit on May 15. The bottom portion is devoted to the Cro-Mags' show on May 20. The band had released their Best Wishes album only a month before. Last is a 1990s poster for a Gwar show at La Luna in Portland. Gwar has never downplayed their outrageously cartoonish satire and hard rock/punk stylings. Mixing horror and sci-fi, the long-running band caught plenty of media attention in the 1990s. They even showed up on The Jerry Springer Show. Unrestored posters with bright color and clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as light edge wear, slight creases, pinholes, minute tears, or faint and unobtrusive smudges and stains. The "Spring Metal Onslaught" poster displays the worst of the wear. All three posters feature designs by Mike King.
