    Description

    Rock Concert Postcard Lot (Family Dog, 1967-1968). Promotional Postcards (11) (5" X 7") & Trimmed Postcard (5" X 6.5"). Rock and Roll.
Offered in this lot are vintage postcards from The Family Dog, promoting all sorts of classic rock and psychedelia concerts at the Fillmore and the Avalon Ballroom, many put on during San Francisco's mythical Summer of Love. The cards announce appearances from groovy folks like Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Doors, John Lee Hooker, The Miller Blues Band, Bukka White, Canned Heat, Moby Grape, Vanilla Fudge, The Flamin' Groovies, and more, and feature fantastic art from scene vets such as Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, Bob Schnepf, Robert Fried, and Victor Moscoso. Unrestored postcards with bright colors and clean overall appearances. They may show general signs of having been displayed, such as slight edge and corner wear, minor creases, pinholes, unobtrusive stains, very small tears, or some toning. Some of the postcards also have adhesive remnants on the verso, but all are free of writing and postage stamps. The "Goldrush" postcard appears to have had it's ticketing information neatly trimmed away from the lower border, and an additional postcard has had it's image and text inverted horizontally in the printing process. Please see full-color, enlargeable images above for more details. Overall Grade: Fine/Very Fine.
