Rock Concert Postcard Lot (Bill Graham/Family Dog, Late 1960s-Early 1970s). Promotional Postcards (12) (4.5" X 7" - 5" X 8"). Rock and Roll.Offered in this lot are vintage postcards from folks like Bill Graham and The Family Dog, promoting all sorts of classic rock and psychedelia concerts and happenings at legendary venues such as the Fillmore and the Avalon Ballroom, put on in the heyday of San Francisco's glorious sixties and seventies. The cards announce appearances from groovy bands like The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Big Mama Thornton, the Grateful Dead, Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, the Allman Brothers, Vanilla Fudge, Boz Scaggs, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and more, and feature fantastic art from scene vets like Wes Wilson, Alton Kelley, Bob Schnepf, Larry Welz, and Carl Lundgren. Unrestored postcards with bright colors and clean overall appearances. They may show general signs of having been displayed, such as slight edge and corner wear, minor creases, pinholes, very small tears, or light toning. Some of the postcards also have stains or adhesive remnants on the verso, but all are free of writing and postage stamps. The Boz Scaggs card has been folded horizontally, and shows additional surface indentations, and a postcard for the Fourth Annual North Beach Photographic Art Fair also has surface paper lifts and minor stains in the front borders. Please see full-color, enlargeable images above for more details. Overall Grade: Very Fine-.
