    These campaign books from RKO for their 1939-1940 and 1940-1941 seasons feature many important and fascinating images. Announced was the new studio prodigy, Orson Welles, with his film John Citizen, U.S.A. (better known as Citizen Kane). Carole Lombard in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the beginning of The Saint detective series. Laurel and Hardy's The Flying Deuces, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Cross-Country Romance and single reel Walt Disney cartoons, are a few other titles to be found, as well as images of Cary Grant, Kay Francis, Richard Dix, Harold Lloyd, Ginger Rogers, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. In very presentable condition, both books shown some spine, edge and cover wear. The 1940-1941 book has a small tear in the left edge of the back cover. The 1939-1940 book has a minor crease on upper corners at the spine. Very Fine.
