RKO Exhibitor Book (RKO, 1942-1943). (Multiple Pages, 11.75" X 14.5").
Spiral bound and encased in a hard cover, snap-enclosure portfolio, this exhibitor piece is quite the find. Printed on a lovely linen stock paper for the 1942-1943 season, the book's title page is filled with battle illustrations and proclaims "RKO's Victory Program, " in support of America's continued involvement in World War II. Included are exquisite color drawings by Fredric Madan and William Rose, great fold-outs and artwork for such films as Bambi,Tarzan Triumphs, Once Upon a Honeymoon and Journey into Fear. Also shown are full page designs for the Val Lewton horror films Cat People, I Walked with a Zombie and Leopard Man. The closing page again includes war illustrations and urges theaters to do their part in the war effort by selling more war bonds and stamps, as they are "Vital for Victory." The book has maintained a great appearance, with only some pencil marks through the page for They Flew Alone, also known as Wings and the Woman. Very Fine-.
