DescriptionRebecca (Eagle Lion, 1951). Folded, Fine+. First Post-War Release Danish Full-Bleed Poster (24.25" X 33.25") K. Wenzel Artwork.
Alfred Hitchcock's first American-made film, and the only one to win a Best Picture Oscar, Rebecca tells the tale of a man (Laurence Olivier) haunted by the death of his first wife, and the toll it takes on his second wife (Joan Fontaine). The excellent supporting cast includes Judith Anderson (as the cruel housekeeper), George Sanders, and Nigel Bruce. This Danish poster has great images of Olivier and Fontaine. Signs of use include edge and fold wear, slight fold separations, pinholes, and light creases. There are some moderate tears at the edges, some of which extend into the top of Laurence Olivier's image. The poster has a couple of small chips near the crossfolds, an ink censorship stamp in the top background, and a snipe over the distributor logo. Folded, Fine+.
Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
