    Description

Rear Window (Paramount, 1954). Very Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Tinged with the suspense that one expects from master filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, this one sheet remains a top choice for movie poster collectors. The director cast one of his favorite leading men, James Stewart, in this tale of a photo-journalist who suspects he has witnessed a murder in the apartment building behind his. Most poignantly, Stewart's voyeurism acts as a dark reflection to that of the audience's, as they avidly watch the events unfolding on screen but are unable to act. The film also proves to be a sustained glimpse into the mind of Hitchcock himself, whose trade revolves around the constant observation of others, as well as the darkest parts of their nature. Professional restoration has been applied to fold wear, pinholes, a few small chips, and minor tears, in addition to a tear in the right border that extended slightly into the background. The borders have been airbrushed.
