DescriptionThe War of the Worlds (Paramount, 1953). Very Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Science fiction posters don't get much better than this classic piece, which displays one of the top illustrations of the genre! A collector favorite, this one sheet comes from the defining sci-fi film of the 1950s, a standard-setter in Hollywood. The adaptation of H.G. Wells' famed alien invasion story used creative visual effects and graphics that made good use of the Technicolor process, earning itself an Academy Award for Best Special Effects. The poster presents well with bright colors and has had partial touchup to edges and folds which include small pinholes, tiny tears, and very subtle fold separations.
Estimate: $2,500 - $5,000.
