DescriptionTo Catch a Thief (Paramount, 1955). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Derived from the old saying "It takes a thief to catch a thief," the inspired title for the novel in which To Catch a Thief is loosely based, is reflective of the plot for this thriller which is perfectly depicted in the imagery for this vibrant one sheet. Cary Grant as John "The Cat" Robie and the elegant Grace Kelly as Frances "Francie" Stevens are displayed prominently on this colorful one sheet, appropriately so as the picture won an Oscar for Best Color Cinematography. An always-in-demand Hitchcock favorite, the poster shows professional restoration to the borders and folds, pinholes, small chips or tears, ink bleedthrough, and minor fold separation. Airbrushing has been applied to parts of the borders and folds.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
