    Description

World War II Propaganda (Abbott Laboratories, 1943). Rolled, Very Fine-. War Bonds Poster (11" X 15.5") "Speed the Day," Joseph Hirsch Artwork. War.
Published by the U.S. military medical supplier Abbott Laboratories, this series of posters encouraged students from kindergarten through twelfth grade to take part in the U.S. Treasury's Schools-at-War program. As part of this initiative, the government would reward schools with the best fundraising of war bonds and the best scrapbook recording the students' efforts with a brick from the historic Independence Hall in Philadelphia. On the verso is a paragraph detailing the life and career of the poster's artist, Joseph Hirsch. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, light creases, unobtrusive stains and smudges, or soft surface rippling. There is staining on the verso that does not affect the image on the front.
