Famous Monsters of Filmland (Warren Publishing, 1974). Very Fine. Magazines (5) (Multiple Pages, 8.5" X 11.5") Basil Gogos Cover Artwork. Horror.
Arguably the first horror, fantasy, and science fiction movie-related magazine of its time, Famous Monsters of Filmland with its editor Forrest J Ackerman and publisher James Warren built a rabid following of fans for the genre from 1958-1983. Included are the July, August, September, October, and December 1974 issues, all of which have cover artwork by Basil Gogos with the exception of the August, 1974 issue. These particular magazines contain articles, pictures and behind the scenes insight on such films and big names as Lon Chaney Jr. and Sr., Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Linda Blair, King Kong, Young Frankenstein, Zardoz, Nosferatu: The Silent Vampire, The Exorcist, Cat People, Godzilla, The Phantom of the Opera, and many more. Unrestored magazines with bright color and clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as slight edge and/or spine wear, pinholes, faint smudges, soft surface scuffs, or very minor tears.
