DescriptionOur Hospitality (Metro, 1923). CGC Graded Lobby Card (11" X 14").
In his early shorts and features, Buster Keaton often used lobby cards to portray sight gags that didn't make it into the finished film. Here, Keaton pauses for a moment to watch a large man (Erwin Connelly) get beaten by his tiny wife during a quarrel. The scene is pure Keaton, sporting his trademark deadpan. It's the 1830s, and Keaton's sense of humor foreruns American history as he displays his "carpet bagger" luggage as a New Yorker going to the South to receive an inheritance. A great grade for a great card, the CGC has rated this card at an 8.5. Very Fine+.
Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
