DescriptionOur Daily Bread (United Artists, 1934). Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
King Vidor directs and produces this sequel to his silent classic, The Crowd. Tom Keene and Karen Morley are cast in the roles previously played by James Murray and Eleanor Boardman, as a couple unable to make ends meet in the city, who move to an abandoned farm they have acquired. The two open their property to victims of the Depression, and create a community in which everyone comes together for the common good. Upon release, the film was labeled by many as a communist film, while the communist press considered it to be capitalist propaganda. This stone litho poster has some chipping in the borders, primarily at the intersection of the folds. There was some small amount of paper loss in the crossfolds as well as a chip in the upper left corner that extends into the artwork. The professional restoration was done well and the poster presents very nicely. Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
