MAD Magazine by Drew Struzan (Time Warner, 1998). Near Mint-. Signed Original Mixed Media Cover Artwork on Illustration Board (20" X 30").
Always on the lookout for new guest cover artists, MAD Magazine approached one of the maestros of modern poster design, Drew Struzan, for his take on their famous mascot, Alfred E. Neuman. The result was this humorous piece perfect for the publication, which was used on the March, 1999 issue of the magazine. Struzan had gained his fame by working on the poster art for hundreds of Hollywood productions, first gaining notice with his work on Star Wars and continuing with such titles as the Indiana Jones series, Back to the Future, The Muppet Movie, First Blood, The Thing, and more. Made with acrylic and colored pencil, this vibrant first-time offer at Heritage shows no issues aside from very minor corner bumps and the slightest bit of edge wear. It has been signed on the right side of the image and has Struzan's official stamped information on the verso. Dated on the verso December 10, 1998.

    Estimate: $8,000 - $16,000.
