John P. Marquand's fictional Japanese detective is brilliantly portrayed by Peter Lorre in eight top pictures, which were filmed from 1937-1939. With its gripping plots and Lorre's excellent performances, this series has remained popular and highly collectable. Mr. Moto poses as an escaped criminal who befriends another former Devil's Island inmate in order to solve a series of assassinations by a gang of international killers. From the opening escape scene to the fast-paced chase sequence at the British Museum, this action-packed mystery is riveting throughout. This stunning stone litho one sheet is the most striking of the Moto posters and is in terrific condition, showing only pinholes in the corners and a small chip in the lower left corner. Very Fine.
