DescriptionMystery Valley (Rayart Pictures, 1928). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Heritage is pleased to present this very rare one sheet for the first time, showcasing the exceptional richness of color possible with the stone litho printing process. Cowboy actor Buddy Roosevelt got his start as a stuntman in the 1916 in the William S. Hart picture Hell's Hinges, eventually finding his way onto the set of the Rudolph Valentino vehicle The Sheik in 1921. It wouldn't be long before Roosevelt began work as an actor as well as a stuntman, getting starring roles in several poverty row pictures into the age of the talkies. Professional touchup has been applied to slight fold wear and separation, pinholes, as well as small tears and chips. Also addressed was writing bleedthrough and a few surface scuffs and scratches in the upper background, however these are still slightly visible, as is light unaddressed toning in the borders. The linen has been trimmed to the edges, but not into the poster.
Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
