    Description

    The Jazz Singer (Warner Brothers, 1927). Window Card (14" X 22.5") and (3) Photos (8" X 10").
History would record this film as the one that changed it all! Heralded as the first feature-length film with synchronized dialogue sequences, it was the first to capture the audience's attention to the rise of a new form of the medium of film. Al Jolson stars as the son of a cantor who wants his son to follow in his footsteps in his synagogue yet the son wants to follow his own path and perform on stage. The film would rescue Warner Brothers from financial ruin. This beautiful original release window card is a first for Heritage! Offered with the card is the original paper snipe that was removed from the lower three inches of the card. The card previously had uneven toning to the dark purple background which has been restored and the white borders have had touch up as well. Also include are one still photograph from this film and two from Jolson's hit, The Signing Fool (1928). Fine/Very Fine.
