Simply Divine: 1984 Australian Tour (PH, 1984). Very Fine- on Linen. Australian Tour Poster (18.75" X 27.75"). Icons.
Divine, born Harris Glenn Milstead, is perhaps best remembered for his work with filmmaker John Waters, but his iconic status extends far beyond their collaborations. Divine's 1984 Australian tour brought his unconventional representation of gender and sexuality in front of a wide audience. Rivalling mainstream music acts of the time, Divine's performances were seen as acts of rebellion, challenging societal norms and fueling the discourse on queer visibility in popular culture. Divine will thus always be remembered for his unapologetic presence as a drag performer and for pushing against societal conventions, providing visibility, and empowering LGBTQIA+ individuals.

A restored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. Touchup has been applied at the bottom left corner to correct pinholes and slight creases as well as to the bottom right corner to address a paper lift. Additionally, the bottom border has been airbrushed to correct faint staining and ink stain bleedthrough. Snipes along the bottom border are still visible. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades.
