    Description

    Moon Over Miami (20th Century Fox, 1941). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style B.
With WWII on everyone's mind, America desperately needed entertainment and this film delivered in spades. We are proud to present the extremely elusive Style B one sheet, featuring a resplendent full length Betty Grable. She was voted "Best Figure" in the year this film premiered, and fanned the fire of her growing legend with an absolutely magnetic performance. With her notoriously spectacular figure sumptuously displayed in a stream of dazzling outfits in this film, Grable would, in just a few years, be the highest paid star in America and would see her legs insured for a million dollars. She would have the most reproduced pin-up poster in history stapled to every barracks wall in the world. She once quipped; "There's a reason I'm successful in show business... and I'm standing on both of them." Both styles of the posters were at one time attributed to famed pin-up artist Alberto Vargas who did work on the campaign, though there is now a belief that the images were done in the style of Vargas. This gorgeous poster had touchup to the folds, and tiny chips in the lower crossfold and bottom border. There were some creases in the upper and bottom left corners and a tear in the upper left border just into the background, all beautifully restored. This vibrant copy is the first we have sold in four years. Very Fine on Linen.
