    Description

Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, and Shirley Temple (MGM, 1941). Nitrate Negative (7.75" X 9.5"). Musical.
Vintage nitrate negative. Here's your chance to own a slice of interesting Hollywood history. This negative was part of a group of photos taken on the MGM lot for publicity purposes to announce the signing of Shirley Temple to a contract at MGM in 1941. They took several pictures of Temple with MGM stars like Clark Gable, Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. Temple was to join Garland and Rooney in Babes on Broadway, but Temple's mother nixed the film for Temple, saying her daughter would be upstaged heavily by the two wunderkinds. The part went instead to Virginia Weidler. Who knows what might have been if Temple had been given a chance? The negative displays signs of use. May include light edge wear, small corner pinholes, surface blemishes and scuffs, and some mild developer residue that should not affect the printing process. This original negative can be used to produce a beautiful positive print when correctly processed. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Fine+.
