    Description

Footlight Parade (Warner Bros., 1933). Very Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27.5" X 41").
The early 1930s were the heyday years of the early sound musical films and Warner Bros. was at the forefront of this movement with the genius of Busby Berkeley, and three hit films in this year alone: 42nd Street, Gold Diggers of 1933, and this one - Footlight Parade. This gorgeous and energetic one sheet boasts absolutely stunning artwork of the stars of the film: James Cagney, Joan Blondell, Ruby Keeler, and Dick Powell. The film features the unforgettable Harry Warren and Al Dubin hit numbers "By a Waterfall," "Honeymoon Hotel," and "Shanghai Lil." Presented here for only the second time in a Heritage auction is this extremely rare and very desirable one sheet. The poster was in excellent condition prior to being linen-backed. Touchup has addressed some fold wear, light extra vertical folds, and a couple of small tears. There was a tear off of one of the extra folds above Powell's top hat, as well as a tear at the top horizontal fold into Keeler's torso. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire this seldom offered pre-Code classic item.
