    Description

Mr. Moto in Danger Island & Others Lot (20th Century Fox, 1939). Title Lobby Card & Lobby Cards (3)(11" X 14").
Created by novelist John P. Marquand, Mr. Moto became an enormous success, spawning a number of popular books and movies. Played by the character actor Peter Lorre in a series of eight films between 1937 and 1939, Mr. Moto - a Japanese character - fell out of favor with the American public with the advent of World War II. In this entry, Moto travels to Puerto Rico to investigate a diamond smuggling ring, at the request of the U.S. government. Included with the title card and a scene card from Danger Island, are single lobby cards for Look Out, Mr. Moto (1937) and Mr. Moto's Last Warning (1938). The title card has pinholes, stains and smudging, edge wear with creases and small tears, and paper and cellophane tape on the verso. The Danger Island scene card has pinholes. The cards for Look Out, Mr. Moto and Mr. Moto's Last Warning have chips, creases, and tears in the top border. Fine/Very Fine.
